“Jahangir’s Quadrangle”, the main zanana courtyard, was stared during Akbar period and completed during the reign of Jahangir in1617-1618 AD. It has open cloisters, combines the local brick architecture with a facing of red sandstone trabeated form of the imperial style of Agra and Fatehpur Sikri. The chhajja of the courtyard wings is supported by composite zoomorphic brackets in the shape of elephants, felines and peacocks. The courtyard was planned to have a pool with fountains and a seating platform. The khwabgah-e Jahangiri another impressive structure is planned in the middle of the northern wall of the quadrangle. The front façade of the chamber facing the courtyard were constructed in a trebeated style of construction carried out by Akbar at Fatehpur Sikri. The north and west fronts of the fort has the longest mural stated by Jahangir and completed by Shah Jahan. It has multi-panelled surfaces contain scenes of animal-fights and mythical figures in tile mosaic.
