The most conspicuous feature in the landscape is the tall minar (Jahan Numa) of Mir Ma’sum. The minar was built of burnt brick using lime mortar. It rises to a height of about a hundred feet, is eighty-four feet in circumference at the base, and is somewhat out of the perpendicular…Under the shadow of the minar rest the remains of Mir Muhammad Ma’sum Shah, his father, and other members of his family, the Ma’sumi Sayyids…Over the graves are open canopies supported on square, flat and octagonal stone pillars whose shafts are covered with Persian writing in relief and other ornamental tracery.

Mir Masum Minaret

Between Mir Ma’sum’s grave and the base of the minaret is a domed octagonal building, apparently intended as a rest-house, which was built in A.H. 1004. It has four arched entrances, those on the east and west having a cut-stone ornamental balconied window above each of them. There are blind arches at two levels on four blank walls. About fourteen feet from the floor, inside, is a gallery running around the wall, above which an inscription consisting of verse from holy Quran containing a date in inscription. There are all others over the balconies. The verse reads:

This edifice is so magnificent and famous that

Its dignity has induced the heaven to became liberal.

As it has been the abode of liberality,

Its date is indicated by the expression “Abode of liberality.”

It is built of brick and is decorated. A horizontal band just below the parapet and the dome has been beautifully covered with glazed tiles using geometrical patterns.
