The earliest extensive use of glazed bricks and tile work in Multanis found to the tomb of Shah Yousuf Gardez. He was born in Gardez, Iran (1088 AD) and came to Multan at the age of 33. He died in 1136 AD. His mausoleum is rectangular in Plan and has flat roof. The mausoleum id decorated with square or rectangular tiles in white and in shade of blue color some are plain while others have geometric or floral motifs. The tomb was designed on module and glazed tiles follows the same dimension as all lines concord with each other.
