Tomb and Mosque of Hazrat Bagga Sher

The tomb and mosque of Pir Bagga Sher is situated in Khan Pur Bagga Sher a small town 10 km north of Muzaffargarh city. The architectural form of the tomb is inspired from the tomb of Hazrat Baha ud Din Zakriya. From outer porch one enters into main tomb chamber. The tomb is square in plan. From the Chamber rises a high octagonal drum having ventilators on alternate sides. The drum finally support a hemi-spherical dome. Externally the tomb chamber is finished with fair face brick work, while first floor and dome are finished with lime wash.

Attached to the tomb lies a beautiful mosque built sometimes in the nineteenth century following the Multan School design tradition. The mosque has three bays. The cental bay is bigger compared with the flanking bays. Each bay is surmounted with dome. The cental dome is bigger and higher. The front facade of the mosque is divided into three parts, the middle part or portion covering main prayer hall is slightly protruded and it its limits are defined by circular shaft finished with turrets. the mosque has four turrets one in each corner of the mosque. The overall proportions of the mosque are exquisite. The entire facade is divided into horizontal and vertical panels while the three doors are doors are defined with rectangular frames. the entire facade is finished with beautiful floral art executed with glazed tiles.
