The tomb of Ala ud Din Mauj Darya is the most magnificent tomb built on the order of Muhammad bin Tughlaq. The emperor wished to construct the tomb for the saint, but saint desired to postpone the idea until after his death. After the demise of the Saint, the Sultan appointed Qutub Khan and Basharat Khan to undertake the project.

The tomb is square in plan with slightly battered walls. There are three entrances on the south, east and north while the western side accommodates the mihrab. The square plan is converted into an octagon with the help of squinch arches. At the upper level the tomb has a short neck having sixteen sides in the interior and octagon in the interior and crowned with hemispherical dome.

The main entrance is emphasized through a projected rectangular frame of fine cut and dressed brick work running along the sides and top. The central band incorporates Quranic verses intricately carved in thuluth and Naskh character while the bands on both sides has interlaced geometrical diaper work. The important feature of the front facade is the gwaska niches and triangular motifs on the either side of the main entrance which were first used in the tomb of Ahmad Kabir in Dunyapur.
