The tomb of Awais Khaga is located in a cemetery in Basti Daira, Multan. It was probably built around the year 1300, corresponding with the death of the Sufi saint. The tomb is square in plan with upward sloping corner towers topped with turrets (called guldastas). The drum is low and coved with hemispherical dome. The exterior of tomb is covered with blue and white glazed tiles particularly the corner towers and portions of the facades. The use of blue-glazed in Multan is first seen in the tomb of Shah Yousuf Gardez. The main entrance of the building is on the south side even though—at first glance— the main entrance appears to be located on the east. The south-facing entrance and the accompanying vestibule are reminiscent of the tradition set in the tomb of Shah Rukn-e Alam. The tradition of south-facing entrances in Multan is typical of Suhrawardi Sufi tombs.
